Helping
Captives
No one was created to be someone else's. Caleb founded Helping Captives to partner with law enforcement and fight human trafficking head-on … providing freedom, safety, and hope to survivors.
Fighting Modern Slavery
Helping Captives is a Christian anti-trafficking and support organization serving the Pacific Northwest … one of the leading organizations of its kind in the region. Founded by Caleb Altmeyer, the ministry exists to honor God by providing opportunities for freedom and safety to those exploited by sex trafficking through prevention, intervention, and recovery services.
The organization provides 24-hour emergency stabilization care for trafficking survivors … one of the few in the area offering that level of immediate response. From case management to counseling, Helping Captives walks with survivors from rescue through restoration.
Caleb partners with federal and local law enforcement … including the FBI, Homeland Security, and local police departments … creating a bridge between faith-based care and the justice system.

From Exploitation to Sanctuary
In one of the boldest moves in anti-trafficking ministry, Caleb led the acquisition and transformation of a former strip club … the Deja Vu in Spokane … into the Freedom Center, a new headquarters for Helping Captives.
A place that once exploited people is being rebuilt into a facility housing offices, counseling rooms, and case management services. The demolition of the old interior began in February 2025, with construction of the new healing space underway.
"Something that was considered a stain on this community... it's going to be beautiful."
